The "Aonie" or muses, in Greek mythology, are the 9 daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne, goddesses of inspiration in literature, science and arts. They resided on Mt. Helicone in Aonia, a district of ancient Boeotia, a region of Greece where we derive the name "Aonie" from its inhabitants.
The brand Aonie was born as a collaboration in 2008 from sisters Paola and Consuelo Coti, thrust from their desire to construct unique accessories and costume jewelry. The brand is rooted in the history of art and classical goldsmiths of Italy whom Paola and Consuelo interpret with a modern twist. They distinguish themselves by designing traditional accessories using unconventional materials to create an "antique" dreamland. Lace, "ex voto", angels and butterflies are their existential mantras that are created and enhanced with quintessential fine jewelry techniques, which distinguish each of their collections.
The workmanship of the semi-precious materials is entrusted to the agile hands of Italian goldsmiths that endow Aonie as a true mark of excellence. Each piece has been created with the idea that it should be touched, worn and seen. It's a modern way of being bold without being overt.
WE CHOSE AONIE BECAUSE: Paola and Consuelo have unique taste enriched with Parisian inspiration and their creations convey finesse in an unmistakable retro-chic mood.
